A Photographer’s Reflection

Because I am generally a painter of realism, I generally start out working with a photo for reference. For this most recent painting I, once again, used a photo taken by Lukas Bergstrom. I have been intrigued with his photo for years but finally got down to painting from it. This is a work in progress but I love the fact that, if you look carefully enough, you can see the photographer in the reflection in the sunglasses. Because I am working with acrylics I still have some smoothing to do with regards to skin tones.
